It is understandable that you want and need people to hear your music but the industry is taking advantage of streaming radio royalties. Terrestrial and Online streaming radio stations argue for what they will pay for each listener during each play of a song on their stream. Which is very little for online stations. But for terrestrial stations, it's in hundreds to thousands of listeners. They can't get an accurate number listening through the air but streams can be and are counted. This is how streaming royalties are calculated. Streaming services like Spotify, Tidal, and Apple Music, who earn money as subscription services, uses the same pay rate as streaming radio stations, so artists are paid by demand of individuals who use the service. Radio stations are used to PROMOTE the artists in hopes that listeners will PURCHASE their products, Albums and Singles. The streaming services has made listening to full albums by request (or on-demand) a new normal and eliminated record sales almost completely. To get back to how it was, Artists need to pull back their catalog from these streaming services, but continue to allow some songs for promotional sake.
